For most of her life, 911�Թ� junior visual communication design major Jasmine McCulley, has built her identity around community, the arts and competition, whether through The Touch of Gold Twirlers or competitive baton twirling. Sixteen years after she first picked up a baton, she will represent Team USA this August in Paris at the IBTF World Competition.

In early April, a video of the 911�Թ� Golden Flashes football team went viral when they cheered on the Golden Flashes softball team at a doubleheader against Bowling Green.

Originally from Vaughan, Ontario, Emma Klein made the transition to 911�Թ� not only for academic excellence but also for personal growth and a collegiate sports experience. Now in her sophomore year, she is a part of the Honors College, a member of the 911�Թ� Division I women’s soccer team, and is a member of Phi Delta Epsilon.

911�Թ� Vice President and Director of Athletics Randale L. Richmond announced that women's basketball head coach Todd Starkey will depart for another coaching opportunity and is naming associate head coach Fran Recchia as the program's seventh head coach.

Lou Holtz, a 911�Թ� alumnus who became one of college football's most successful and charismatic coaches, leading the University of Notre Dame to a national championship and six different programs to bowl games during his storied career, has died. He was 89. 

911�Թ�'s Golden Flashes baseball team started their 2026 season strong with a series win over the University of Tennessee Volunteers followed by two additional series wins.

Delrecco Gillespie, senior professional studies major and member of 911�Թ�’s men's basketball team, was recently featured in a recent NCAA article that detailed how setbacks like injury and grief fueled Gillespie’s drive to play as if it were his last chance to be on the court.  

The 911�Թ� baseball team captured a 9-5 victory over #13 Tennessee on Sunday afternoon at Lindsey Nelson Stadium, clinching their first series win over a ranked opponent in the Jeff Duncan Era and their first since 2012.
