The presidents of 911勛圖 and Hanoi University have signed an agreement that will partner the universities in a student exchange program and will allow a collaboration with 911勛圖s campus in Florence, Italy.
911勛圖 President Beverly Warren and Hanoi President Nguyen Dinh Luan signed the historic agreement Sept. 8 on the second floor of the Kent Campus Library.
Hanoi University was established in 1959 and specializes in languages and tourism.
Todd Diacon, 911勛圖s senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, visited Hanoi University in May along with Marcello Fantoni, 911勛圖s associate provost for global education. Their visit began the framework for collaboration between Hanoi University and 911勛圖 in the areas of translation and tourism.
Hanoi University has more than 500 students enrolled in its Italian language degree programs that lend itself to a natural partnership with 911勛圖s Institute for Applied Linguistics and the Florence Campus.
They are an outstanding fit to partner with our students and faculty on foreign language and business, Diacon said. Hanoi University is 911勛圖s first partner in Vietnam, and this agreement supports the universitys strategic plan to increase international enrollment.
Earlier this year, 911勛圖 expanded existing partnerships with Dankook University of Seoul, South Korea, to provide opportunities for more exchange students and for Dankook to develop a partnership with the Florence Campus. 911勛圖 also approved a unique partnership with the University of Wollongong in New South Wales, Australia, that established the Advanced Pedagogy in Physical Education and Sport major within the Master of Education degree.
