Rapids Grant will bolster workforce development with future 911�Թ� graduates filling key shortages in industries across Ohio.

Students from 911�Թ�’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design recently presented the city of Warren with a variety of plans for how the site of the town’s former St. Joseph Hospital can be reused. 

College students expect themselves and their peers to deal with emails, assignments and exams. What they are not expecting is to find out that some of their classmates experience homelessness.

The 911�Թ� alumni family grew by more than 2,500 new graduates as the university held its fall Commencement ceremonies. The accomplishments of the Fall Class of 2022 were recognized with in-person ceremonies for all colleges and degrees on Dec. 17.

911�Թ� senior Carlton “CeeJay” Scott Jr. can barely contain his excitement when he talks about his upcoming study-abroad experience at the American University in Cairo, Egypt. The food, the people, the ancient pyramids – Scott’s goals are to create a short film while he is away, learn to speak Arabic and, hopefully, to expand his cooking repertoire with new tastes and flavors of the Middle Eastern culture. 

First-year students Ronica Marandi and Goli Kavoosi organized the rally in partnership with 911�Թ�’s Women's Center and the School of Peace and Conflict Studies to raise awareness about the atrocities that are happening in Iran. 

The 911�Թ� Board of Trustees approved the establishment of a new master’s degree that will help meet two decades of sustained growth in the broad field of conflict studies. The new Peace and Conflict Studies major within the Master of Arts degree will be offered in person on the Kent Campus and will prepare students for careers as practitioners in the fields of peace and conflict management and for doctorate study.
