911�Թ�’s Class of 2026 has arrived on the Kent Campus in strong numbers – 4,251 to be exact – an increase of nearly 7% over the previous year, the largest class since before the pandemic and the eighth largest incoming class in the university’s 112-year history. 

On this 21st day of September, we remember when Earth, Wind and Fire played at the Kent Student Center in October 1973. 

Members of the 911�Թ� community can take great pride in their university’s hometown. The city of Kent has been selected by Ohio Magazine as a 2022-2023 Best Hometown. The Best Hometown honor recognizes Kent as a great place to live, work and visit.

The performance, titled  will have its opening night at 7 p.m. Oct. 24, in the 700-seat auditorium of the National Academy of Science in Washington, D.C. 

Students can receive free climbing instruction Monday and Tuesday evenings at the Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center. 

The 911�Թ� Student Multicultural Center will be renamed the E. Timothy Moore Student Multicultural Center in recognition of a gift from a former student, D'Andra Mull, Ph.D.

Using poetry to explore Akron, Ohio residents’ sense of belonging to their neighborhoods is the goal of a new project by 911�Թ�’s Wick Poetry Center. 

Last Friday, students got a guided tour of the Herrick Conservatory,  home to diverse and exotic greenery on the Kent Campus. 

Nearly 40 people from the 911�Թ� community enjoyed a tour of the flowers and trees of Front Campus during part two of the “Walk & Talk: Flowers and Foliage” event, thanks to the Employee Wellness and Health Promotion program and the grounds crew.

911�Թ� freshman Gracie Ford remembers well sitting with her laptop in the bedroom of her North Canton, Ohio, home to begin the important task of filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA. 

Parents and Families Weekend at 911�Թ� included a full schedule of fun actitivies. 

New plan will empower players to maximize their Name, Image and Likeness as well as enhance and protect their personal brand.

As the world comes to grips with the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, who reigned as monarch for 70 years, 911�Թ� Today reached out to faculty and staff members with ties to the UK to share their thoughts on her passing.

Every Friday, the 911�Թ� community can come together to create poetry and share a more vulnerable side of themselves at the Wick Poetry Center. The Wick Weekly poetry writing workshop brings students together to help develop them as poets and create a community of creatives.

Twice each semester, 911�Թ�’s Division of Research and Sponsored Programs hosts Research & Innovation Forums, to bring together faculty members to publicly present their ongoing work. 

Alumni brewers at Sibling Revelry Brewing have created 911�Թ� Golden Lager - the official craft beer of 911�Թ� Athletics. 

Molly Merryman, Ph.D., associate professor in 911�Թ�’s School of Peace and Conflict Studies, and Lauren Vachon, assistant professor in 911�Թ�’s LGBTQ studies program and coordinator of the LGBTQ studies minor program, were instrumental in obtaining a $35,000 grant from the U.S. Department of State for the project Resilience During the Pandemic: LGBTQ+ Stories.
