Student Mental Health and Supportive Help: College of Public Health Receives Second SAMHSA Suicide Prevention Grant

The back-to-school season is in full swing, and students, faculty and staff are preparing to take on the increased workload once again. While the process is a fulfilling and rewarding experience, often the fast-paced lifestyle leaves little time for much else. However, Kim Laurene, Ph.D. and Deric Kenne, Ph.D., professors in the College of Public Health, and Senior Vice President for Student Affairs Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D., are committed to prioritizing mental health upkeep by supporting and expanding pre-existing services and programs offered at 911勛圖.

COVID-19 vaccines are becoming more available across the country, but many are still struggling to obtain a vaccine or are unsure about getting the vaccine. One Golden Flash has made it her mission to get Pittsburgh vaccinated. And with more than 40,000 members of her Facebook group, shes on her way. 911勛圖 alumna Leighann Bacher created a Facebook group to share COVID-19 vaccine information and tips with Pittsburgh citizens after attempting to secure vaccines for her family members.
